We’ve traveled with up to four dogs at once, which is something you see all the time in the RV world. Dogs and RVs just seem to go together.
Cats are a little different. You see them now and then, but not nearly as often. And I’ll admit, when we rescued our kitten, I wasn’t sure how RV life would work out for him. He’d already had a rough start. Part of his ear had been bitten off by something out there before we found him.
Every time we start moving, he gets a little panicked and immediately runs to his safe spot. Usually the small cubby in the bedroom he’s claimed as his own. But once we’re rolling and things settle, something changes. He calms down. Then he starts watching everything.
Early mornings seem to be his favorite. Birds outside the RV window. Light moving through the trees. He’ll sit there quietly, completely absorbed, like the whole world is a show just for him.
Now it feels like he’s part of the rhythm of the road.
If you RV with a cat, I’d love to hear your story. Just leave a reply below and tell me how it’s been for you.
